Root Canal Therapy
A root canal allows us to save a tooth that has an infection in the pulp. While they sound frightening, they’re actually a routine oral surgery. In a root canal, we clean out the infected tissue, replace it with another material, save the root and place a crown on the tooth. Root canals are preferable to extractions in many cases because they save the root and prevent bone loss or bone weakness in the jaw. With a root canal, you also maintain your ability to chew and speak.
Whenever possible, Dr. Salem and the staff at Pearl Dental Associates work to save your damaged or diseased teeth. We offer many therapies that can treat infections, alleviate pain, and strengthen damaged teeth. If you’re experiencing tooth pain or have a dental injury, schedule a consultation as soon as possible. The sooner we see you, the more options we’ll be able to offer you. If a tooth is too damaged to save, Dr. Salem is qualified to extract it in her office, without the need for general anesthesia.
Wisdom Tooth Extractions
The wisdom teeth are actually a third set of molars that usually start to come in around the late teens or early twenties, and if you know anything about them, it’s probably that they are usually removed. Why is this the case? Because most people simply don’t have enough room in their mouth for these teeth, which means they usually cause pain, pressure, and even an infection as they try to erupt. At Pearl Dental Associates, we can safely extract these teeth in-house, saving our patients from having to visit an expensive outside specialist.
Dental implants allow us to replace lost teeth with a strong, attractive, and functional prosthesis. An implant has three parts: a titanium screw that anchors to your jaw bone, a connecting piece, and a custom porcelain crown. Implants are a more permanent tooth-replacement; they are strong and easy to care for. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth.
