Why Choose Us for Dental Technology?
- Better diagnostics & less radiation with digital X-rays
- Digital impression system—no more “goopy” impressions!
- See what we see with our intraoral camera
Compared to traditional film X-rays, digital X-rays are a huge leap forward in almost every way you can imagine. They capture much more detail, take less time to produce, and they even emit up to 80% LESS radiation, which gives many of our patients peace of mind (especially parents). Better yet, they don’t require toxic darkroom chemicals to be processed, limiting our practice’s impact on the local environment.
One of the biggest challenges in dentistry is simply helping a patient understand their dental needs when they can’t actually see what their dentist is talking about. Well, at least that used to be the case! With our intraoral camera, we can capture close-up, high-resolution images of the teeth and gums we can instantly show a patient on a chairside monitor. These help tremendously with patient education and enable our dentists to better explain why someone might benefit from a specific treatment.
When planning more involved treatments like dental implant placement or root canal therapy, we need a little more information than what a typical X-ray can tell us. That’s when we like to use our CB/CT scanner. This device enables us to create a fully 3D X-ray image of the teeth, jaw, and surrounding oral structures down to the finest detail. With this information, we can personalize a procedure to fit a patient’s specific dental anatomy, ensuring a successful treatment as well as a fast and easy recovery.
Digital Impression System
We use dental impressions to design and personalize a wide array of treatments, from porcelain veneers to dental crowns to Invisalign and much more. However, if you’ve ever had an impression taken using dental putty, then you know it’s not exactly a fun experience! That’s why we now only use digital impressions. Using a small handheld scanner, we can create a fully 3D digital model of the teeth and bite almost without touching a patient, keeping the dental putty safely locked away. This process only takes a few minutes, is much more comfortable than the old way, and it even creates a much higher-quality impression!
Soft Tissue Laser
Traditionally, procedures performed on the gums often involved a scalpel and sutures, which as you can imagine, wasn’t exactly comfortable for patients. Now, with our soft tissue laser, we can take care of any gum-related problems quickly and easily. The laser’s highly-concentrated beam of light can instantly vaporize gum disease bacteria, remove infected tissue, and even provide a cosmetic gum lift in just one appointment. Better yet, the laser is so gentle that most patients don’t even need local anesthetic.
